At the resumed fifth session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-5.2), the world collectively committed to develop an international legally-binding instrument on plastic pollution, including in the marine environment. In alignment with this commitment, Canada is honoured to host the upcoming fourth session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC-4) in Ottawa from April 21st to 29th, 2024. In advance of INC-4, Canada has invited ministers to an inclusive discussion on the negotiations during the 6th session of UNEA.
